Veterans Family Resource Center of the Albemarle
In the eight county area of Northeastern North Carolina, there are over 17,500 veterans. This does not include active military or reserve duty military, nor does it include their spouses, widows/widowers, children, or parents.

The Department of Veterans Affairs has benefits available to Veterans and their families including: Health, Education, Job Training, Insurance, Long Term Care, Housing, Burial and Death Benefits, Disability and Compensation, Veteran Entrepreneurial Benefits, and many more.

However, northeastern North Carolina is over $15.2 million dollars a year behind the NC State average for Veterans and their families receiving Federal benefits and services for which they may be entitled, which does not include additional NC State Veterans benefits.

Therefore, Veteran Family Resource Center holds workshops, both in-house as well as out in the community, not only for veterans and their families, but for various service organizations and providers, to learn how they can be part of this effort. Our Certified Service Officers are also available to provide one-on-one assistance.
