North Carolina Veteran's Business Association : NC VetBiz : The North Carolina Veterans Business Association, Inc (d.b.a. NC VetBiz) was founded in April 2008, and incorporated the following month. This organization is headquartered in Charlotte, NC, and is positioned to become the premier private sector advocate and voice for veteran business owners and professionals. However, unlike other such state associations, NC VetBiz is concerned with the interests of all veterans, as well as individuals serving in North Carolina on active duty for any branch of the armed forces, to include the U.S. Coast Guard, the National Guard and the Reserves.

“Veterans are made, not born. . . Our country is losing military Veterans at a rate three times greater than the rate of current and projected discharges of men and women from active duty military service. The population of military Veterans and Vets in business is in steep decline.”¹

Furthermore, the Department of Veteran Affair's (VA), noted one of the employment tracks that they recommends for veterans is “Self-employment” or veteran business owner. The VA believes that self-employment is targeted to individuals who have limited access to traditional employment, need flexible work schedules, or who need a more accommodating work environment due to their disabling conditions or other life circumstances.

Therefore, NC Vetbiz was established assist veterans or veteran business owners. Supporting veterans who own or want to start a business contributes significantly in restoring their quality of life while enhancing transition from active duty to civilian life. NC Vetbiz believes that our purpose is to improve the lives of our veteran community by educating and providing veterans with the necessary resources to become successful in business.

The North Carolina Veterans Business Association, doing business as NC VetBiz, is a newly formed 501 (c)(3) association headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, with satellite offices in Raleigh and Fayetteville. The association was formed and is operated by a group of dedicated veterans, professionals and business owners.

Our mission is to build a strong association, and a professional network of veterans, for veterans in North Carolina that will preserve the interests of all veterans, as well as individuals serving in North Carolina on active duty, in the National Guard and in the Reserves.
