We assist our membership in accessing EDUCATION and procurement opportunities in order to be successful. We know that being a business owner can be rewarding and challenging. Being a veteran owned business brings its own unique opportunities and obstacles that only other veteran owned businesses can understand. We, along with our partners, conduct educational events throughout the year all across the state. From writing a business plan, developing service fees, to acquiring small business loans, we’re committed to providing our business members with the knowledge and resources to grow and be successful as entrepreneurs.
NC VetBiz conducts two statewide events during the year, an Annual Meeting and a Procurement Summit. These signature events have been very successful in keeping our veteran business owners and stakeholders informed of the business landscape in North Carolina, while providing them access to procurement opportunities from corporations and various government agencies.
NC VetBiz partners with various state agencies and nonprofits to provide timely business assistance and access to procurement opportunities for veteran business owners. These partner agencies include the NCMBC (NC Military Business Center), the SBTDC (Small Business Technology Development Center), the NC PTAC (Procurement Technical Assistance Center) and the NC SBA (U.S. Small Business Association). NC VetBiz is also a partner of the VBOC (Veterans Business Outreach Center) - located on the campus of Fayetteville State University - and sponsor of their annual Bootcamp Program for veteran entrepreneurs.
At our 2015 Annual Meeting, NC VetBiz was honored to sign a Strategic Alliance Memorandum (SAM) with the NC SBA. The purpose of this agreement is to develop and foster mutual understanding and a working relationship between the SBA and NC VetBiz in order to strengthen and expand small business development for veterans in North Carolina.
"North Carolina is home to over 84,000 veteran-owned businesses. SBA is committed to helping veterans and the military community. SBA has a Veteran’s Business Outreach Center, and special financing and government contracting programs," said North Carolina District Director Lynn Douthett. "This partnership will further support those who have served their country and choose an entrepreneurial path." “NCVetBiz is excited about this strategic partnership,” said CJ Scarlet, President. “As the leading organization dedicated to serving all veterans in commerce in North Carolina, we appreciate the leverage this partnership brings. This relationship enables us to advance our mission, which, in turn, positively impacts the economy of our state.”
