The North Carolina Heroes’ Fund

Supporting Our Neighbors who Defend Our Freedom

The North Carolina Heroes’ Fund was created in January 2007 with the mission of aiding the men and women specifically from North Carolina or those serving at one of North Carolina’s many military installations.

The Heroes’ Fund provides support to servicemen and women, or their families, that have recently served overseas and are enduring hardships as a direct result of their service.  In addition to financial hardship assistance the Fund has established an educational grant process to assist the dependents of our military men and women with the cost of continued education.

RecruitMilitary

 Why Hire Veterans?
If you are not familiar with hiring veterans, RecruitMilitary would like to share three reasons why military personnel will make great employees for your organization:

1. Well-trained. Veterans possess skills that are critical for an organization to succeed. They are trained to be mission-oriented and to work as a team. They possess critical skills for organizational success including discipline, responsibility, respect, and unparalleled work ethic.

2. Skills that overlap. Veterans have been trained in specific skills that greatly overlap civilian work. Whether driving an 18-wheel tractor-trailer or leading an organization in an executive position, the military provides people with the training to be successful in trades, as well as the experience and conditioning required for management positions.

3. Diverse backgrounds. The military employs a highly diverse workforce. Approximately 45% of RecruitMilitary candidates have a diverse background, enabling you to connect with skilled and diverse candidates through our events.

RecruitMilitary is unique among recruiting firms in that we focus solely on matching up military veterans and their spouses with employers across the world. We believe that former military personnel and military spouses represent the greatest pool of quality talent this country has to offer.

For military veterans, including enlisted transitioning military personnel as well as senior officers and junior military officers, we offer free comprehensive job search and career transition services. We connect these individuals with thousands of employers seeking quality candidates with the unique and well-rounded skill sets a military background provides. We assist our candidates with information about resumes, networking, and interviewing tips in our Career Center. We also provide veteran job fairs throughout the country - in fact, we are the largest producer of military career fairs in the country. Review the Events Calendar for specific days and times on job fairs held in NC.

Thousands of military friendly employers on their website.
